Art Classes
Zhian hosts free art classes every Saturday 1 - 3pm at Studio2 in South Dunedin for local children to attend, where they are encouraged to explore and express their creativity through all manner of art such as painting, drawing, crafts, and sculpting.
Community Dinners
Zhian hosts monthly dinners at Dunedin Community House where all members of the community are invited to attend to share food, stories and friendship with other members of their local community.
Swimming lessons
Zhian with a group of volunteer instructors hire swimming pool to help refugee women learn swimming in a private and safe environment.
School Visits
Zhian facilitates educational workshops at local schools, teaching Dunedin students about what life is like as a refugee both in a camp and after resettlement. In these workshops, students are taught sweet-making, write letters to refugees and craft handmade friendship bracelets, one which they keep and one which gets sent to a child living in a refugee camp.
Friendship Bracelets
The Dunedin Public Library has hosted Zhian's friendship bracelet making workshops where locals make a pair a friendship bracelets; one for them and one which gets sent to a refugee child.
